New, fun, different in VEGETABLES!!
2014 is our first time offering GRAFTED TOMATOES. Here is the what and why: Grafting tomatoes is a relatively new method of getting the best of both worlds. It’s a way to combine a strong grower (on the bottom) which may not have the best or most desirable tomatoes—with a great-tasting tomato which could benefit from a strong root system. Both plants are seeded at the same time and when the plants are just a few inches tall, they are cut and attached where the cut was made.
This method of combining best traits results in better yield, better disease resistance, better nutrient uptake, longer lasting fruit production and a stronger base for that great-tasting tomato. Be sure to plant correctly, not deep enough to cover the joined area. Stake the plants well and remove shoots that grow on the stalk.
While supplies last, we are offering Brandywine, SunSugar, Mr. Stripey, Roma, Mortgage Lifter, Striped German, Brandywine Pink, Brandywine Black, Beefsteak, and ‘Black’.
